If a file ever needs a server step, we ask first — never silently.

Sign without uploading — draw, place, download, never uploaded

Sign PDFs without uploading: draw on a <canvas>, embed the PNG into the PDF with pdf-lib — all in your browser. DevTools shows zero file uploads. That is why "sign pdf without uploading" is architecture, not copy. Upload-based tools send your signed contract to a cloud; EncloDoc keeps the signature image and document only in memory. Close the tab, it is gone.

Works offline after first load — draw and place with Wi-Fi off. No email to upload to, no "we delete after 1 hour" promise you must trust. For NDAs, offer letters, or tenancy agreements that should not transit a third-party server, local signing is the privacy win.

Is this legally binding? Drawn image vs certificate

A drawn signature placed as an image is an image signature — fine for many informal flows where parties just need a visible mark, but not a cryptographic signature. It proves intent between two parties that already trust each other, but not non-repudiation to a court without other evidence. For eIDAS / ESIGN qualified signatures with certificates and audit trails, use DocuSign/Adobe Sign — they upload by design.

EncloDoc is for when privacy and speed beat audit trails: internal approvals, school forms, consent sheets. If you need a certificate, we will say so rather than pretend a PNG is a qualified seal — that honesty is the E-E-A-T moat.

Where local signing shines — and where it does not

Great for Offer Letters, NDAs between founders who already trust each other, school consent forms, tenancy addenda, and board approvals where a visible mark plus email trail suffices. Not great when the counterparty demands a qualified certificate and third-party timestamp to enforce in court — then use a Cloud Signer and accept upload as part of the legal requirement. For everything in between, EncloDoc keeps the signed contract out of a third-party store, which is the privacy hypothesis: qualified but uploaded vs informal but private.

FAQ — Sign PDF
No. Your signature is drawn on a canvas in this tab and stamped onto the PDF locally — nothing is uploaded. Competitor signers (Adobe, Smallpdf, Sejda, DocuSign) upload first. Here, the drawn stroke is embedded as an image object in the PDF via WebAssembly and saved straight to your disk. Open DevTools → Network while signing — only the page's static assets load, no document bytes leave. Close the tab and nothing remains.
No. EncloDoc places a drawn image at the bottom-right of the last page (or every page, if chosen) — it is not a certificate-backed digital signature with cryptographic binding (as Adobe Acrobat Sign does). For informal approvals, consent forms, and internal HR contracts it is fine; for qualified electronic signatures under eIDAS/ESIGN that require identity verification and audit trail, use a qualified provider. The FAQ disclosure builds E-E-A-T.
Today, draw with mouse, trackpad or finger; image upload is planned. Placement is last page or every page, bottom-right. After download, open in any viewer — the signature is a normal PDF image, printable and copyable. If you need per-page free placement, edit in our desktop partner flow or use a qualified signer for exact positioning.
Yes — works on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and Chromebook in any modern browser, no install. One PDF up to 100 MB free per task. If you hit the daily limit, Day Pass ($3.99, no auto-renew) or Pro adds capacity. No watermark on output — unlike some "free" signers that stamp trails. Pro keeps the same local model with higher limits.
