1. Overview
EncloDoc provides browser-based tools for working with PDF and other common document formats. We design supported document operations so that most file processing happens locally in your browser, which means the document itself normally stays on your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared with service providers, and the safeguards used to protect it.
2. Information we process
Document files
For supported local-processing tools, EncloDoc does not intentionally upload your document contents to our application servers for processing. Your browser performs the operation on your device.
Payment and billing information
Paid plans use Stripe Checkout and Stripe Billing. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe. EncloDoc does not receive or store your full card number or card security code. We may receive billing-related information from Stripe, such as your email address, Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, payment status, selected plan, and transaction identifiers.
Entitlement cookie
After a verified purchase, EncloDoc may set a secure, HttpOnly cookie named enclodoc_entitlement. It stores a signed entitlement token used to recognize an active Day Pass or Pro subscription. The cookie is not intended for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Technical and security data
When you access EncloDoc, our hosting and security provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, requested URLs, and security events. Our payment service may also record payment and webhook event identifiers for operational and fraud-prevention purposes.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and secure EncloDoc.
- Verify purchases and activate Day Pass or Pro access.
- Manage subscriptions, billing, cancellations, and customer support.
- Detect abuse, fraud, service failures, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory obligations where applicable.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service or when required by law. Current core service providers include:
- Stripe, for Checkout, payments, subscriptions, invoices, customer billing, and the customer portal.
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, delivery, security, and server-side request handling.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. We do not sell personal information or document contents for advertising.
5. Data retention
Document contents processed locally are not intentionally retained by EncloDoc application servers. Billing records and transaction metadata may be retained for as long as needed for subscription management, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal requirements. Secure entitlement cookies expire according to the purchased access period or subscription state.
6. Security
EncloDoc uses HTTPS, secure cookies, signed entitlements, server-side Stripe API access, and Stripe webhook signature verification. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we design the service to minimize collection of document contents and keep payment secrets out of client-side code.
7. Your choices
You can use supported free tools without a paid subscription where offered. Paid subscribers can manage eligible billing and cancellation options through the EncloDoc billing page and Stripe Customer Portal. You can also contact support regarding privacy or billing questions.
